Lazy Weekend

I went to see the sweetest movie tonight. Mon Meilleur Ami (My Best Friend) is simple and only a little thought-provoking. Just what I wanted, and what a great way to end the weekend.

How great is three days off? Pretty great. I've enjoyed this holiday weekend more than most. I spent some time outside and got a little sun on my face, and spent quite a bit of time lounging and reading. I'm almost through Strange Skies by Matt Marinovich, which has been been fun and easy - good since I haven't made it through a whole book in months. I don't know what the problem has been. Sometimes I just can't stick with it.

I had a great time in the Berkshires (snobby though, huh?) and loved, loved, loved the James Taylor concert. I swear that I stopped counting at either five or six encores; the crowd was crazy about him. I have so many memories from the mid-seventies where his music is playing in the background. Not much is better than a JT concert.

I have my very first trip to DC coming up on Friday. I'm pretty excited. I'm going to see an American friend from Japan who now lives back in the States, so that will be a huge treat. And I have a feeling I'm going to love the area and want to go back immediately. Let's see if I can make it a month before I return.

Work is going better and I'm even enjoying NY more . . . don't get all excited on me, but it's good news. I haven't had much to say lately, or more accurately haven't had much patience for trying to say it, but I did want to check in. Hope everyone had a nice three days off.

  5. There is nothing, nothing, that beats outside, summertime, live music with a group of people. Did I mention nothing?

  6. Is there anything better than a JT concert? And in the Berkshires! How perfect is that? Wish I was there, too.
