No Excuse

Gosh, I'm terrible at updating this thing lately. If only I could blog during work. My brain is all fired up and ready to go between about 10 and 3.

Today was tattoo removal appointment number SIX, and my first appointment since June. I'd definitely forgotten the intensity of the pain. Thank goodness. Beforehand I was nervously chatting with the doc while he fired up his laser, and he mentioned that tat removal patients often get mad at him because they don't understand that there will always be a "ghost image" or scaring, even after the treatments are finished. Whaaa? Could we have discussed that a year ago when I started this process? Because the brochure shows "after" tat-free skin that is pasty like brand new. Tonight it's bloody and yucky and there's just no way in hell I'll ever be able to bring myself to get another tat, even though I love them.

In the meantime, I don't know what to tell you kids. Everyday I think of more fun things that happened on my vacation, and I feel eager to share them (and record them) here. And then I end up with a brain too tired or too full to do anything about it. I have so many e-mails to answer, but lately I've just been blowing off pretty much everything but sleep. More soon . . . really!

  4. I've been in the same boat with my blog lately. Tons of things I think to write about (I mean, hey, I just spent a day on a porn set...you'd think I'd have something to say about it) but when I do have free time I'm sick of sitting at my Mac, writing, thinking, my own opinions, etc. Though my free time seems to be about eating and drinking a lot of wine...not so much with the sleep thing.

  8. Hey anonymous, I love your writing. (I'm here all week. Try the meatloaf. Tip your waitress.) The tat is religious in nature, and I am not. I was 17 years ago when I got it.

  9. i've decided to just write a few sentences if that's all that will come out of me. that way, i'll keep on the habit of writing. the only problem is, i feel like i should be writing my novel instead. the blog does get in the way.

i'd like to see the before and after photos, it would be pretty interesting...
