Where Can I Find A Woman Like That?

  • I spent most of the past week sleeping, like maybe 18 hours a day, and when I wasn't sleeping I was watching lifetime movies and getting unrealistic relationship expectations and traditional gender roles hammered into my psyche.
  • Now I'm up and moving around, and I even went to my vile job today. It took until about Friday of last week, but I finally started to feel better and was able to move around almost normally. Back problems really kick your butt - it's depressing when all you can do is lie down.
  • I ran out of paper towels this weekend and was trying to wait until payday to buy more, but the cat threw up at the top of the stairs right at the entrance to my bedroom, so I guess it's time to go to the store.
  • You are all so bummed that I didn't blog about my evening a few Thursdays ago when I WENT TO A RICK SPRINGFIELD CONCERT AS A SPECIAL GUEST OF RICK'S WITH MY SEESTOR AND WE SAT BACKSTAGE AND EVEN PEED IN HIS RESTROOM A COUPLE OF TIMES. He may or may not have thrown his jacket to us after performing the first number. There might be a zillion pictures of the event to convince my inner thirteen-year-old that dreams really do come true. I'll never tell. (Thanks for the reminder, Dooce!)

  3. OH. MY. GOD. I am so jealous. I watch that friggin' soap just to look at him. Oh, oh, the swooning. I am so jealous. As if all the travel wasn't bad enough. I may have to disown you. The jealousy...is...killing...me...

  5. Rick S.??? Is he still around? I have to say, honestly, that in the early 1980s, I had maybe a dozen or people stop me from time to time and tell me that I looked like him. A lady on an airplane even asked me if I was him. I could see it, sort of, but not really.

  6. You've got to read my friend Nash's blog. He wrote 2 posts on Rick. One about seeing him in concert but the other is the best. He was so in love with Rick that he looked up Rick's mum in the phone book and went with flowers to visit. I think it was in the 70s. I won't tell you what happened but it is one of the best stories I've ever read.
Both posts can be read here:
