Time to Make a Spare

Tonight I got home from work at 9:30 and started taking the garbage out to the curb in my $9.99 Target heels that are too big so I stuff the toes with paper towels. Half-way through the ordeal, I realized that I needed to change shoes because the SNOW was probably ruining the cheap plastic and I need these babies to carry me through next year. So I tried the back door . . . yes, locked. Frick. My back up plan is always to walk the mile to my sister's house and get her key. But in heels? Double frick. So I had to get a key from the 200 year old woman next door (mom of the slumlords.)

A MTF transgendered person was killed this morning in my city. Devastating. I loved taking part in the protest on Saturday, but I've decided that I need to do a little detoxing from the news lately. I'm depressed; it feels like the bad guys are winning. JMG has a great piece here on Newt Gingrich and how he loves all three of his traditional marriages. I'm over it, I can't take it anymore. I think I need to see Religulous. It might help me feel better. Watching the trailer makes me feel better already.

  1. I'm looking forward to the point when the media no longer controls the perception and therefore the relationship we have to religion and religious folks. (Yes, I'm talking about this is large, sweeping terms!)

I mean, why do the crazy fucktards get all the press? Why isn't my queer pastor who talks about how Jesus rotted on the cross like every other criminal back in the day on the TV or in this documentary?

    Ok. Shutting up now.

  2. How horrible! I am so sad to hear this. It fires me up even more to fight for equality. The news is so toxic. I can't even watch it unless it is Jon Stewart or Rachel Maddow or Keith Olbermann.

On a completely different note- I can't believe you can walk in those heels with paper towels in the toes!

  3. Religulous was good, but when you see how brainwashed the "chosen" are, it's even more depressing.
