Watashi to Tokyo is my favorite Japan blog. Mari does a great job explaining the culture in a way that foreigners can understand. Most of the Japan blogs I find are very shallow (I know kancho is novel for Americans, but the culture does go past that), but Mari's gives you a really good idea of what it's like to live here. Warning - if you start reading, you'll get stuck for hours!
