Stones

I'm so bummed to say that I'm writing from the hospital tonight. I'm both bored and totally exhausted; I'm about to succumb to the exhaustion and put my bed down to sleep. The short version is that I've had a nagging back pain for a month or so, and it got worse this past weekend. I made an appointment with my doc for Monday afternoon, and couldn't make it through the day - it was getting worse every hour. To the doc, to the ER, fainted in the ER, admitted, test, test, test, and here I am waiting to see what happens next. I have many gallstones and am waiting to find out if I have kidney stones as well. The pain is other-worldly; I've never in my life even dreamt that this kind of pain exists. Lots of good drugs, but I hate this, I really do. Surgery possible for tomorrow, waiting to hear from the doc. Boo. :(

Hope you have a speedy and pain-free recovery!

  3. Yow! Tell those nurses to take good care of you or they will have Male Nurse Dave to deal with.

  11. Two things. Firstly, I wish I could have written as coherently as you whilst been on "good drugs". Secondly, the guy I work with was off with nagging back pain too. His turned out to be a tumour on his spine and in his bowel. I'm pleased that I already know the outcome of your post-op surgery.
